I am having WD My passport Ultra (1tb) and its not recognized in any USB 3.0 ports, after initial one time! If I try my HDD in any USB 2.0 ports its recognized instantly. I tried reinstalling drivers from device manager, but same problem. 5kplayer vs vlc mac. PS: In WIN 7 OS, it gets recognized in all USB 3.0 ports as well.

Any solutions?I have the same drive with no issues. Best printer compatible with mac. There is a WD SES Driver that should get installed when this device is hooked up from Windows 10, would be listed below Universal Serial Bus Controllers in Device Manager and only visible when hooked up unless you select under View in the Menu and check 'Show Hidden Devices'. Not one problem on 10 as far as detection. The Sata 3 drive recently replaced on the main build and placed in that enclosure at first since it was acting up as far as almost unable to be accessed due to how slow it was acting was found to run normally and now run in a second fan cooled enclosure by way of 2.0 not 3.0 while the enclosure is 3.0 capable. Even with 3.0 flash drives I tend to find those even work better when on a 2.0 port!

I would try a 2.0 port for the time being to see if the drive is suddenly detected and mounted automatically by 10. Generally anything 3.0 will work on the 2.0 ports without any problems. I have several 3.0 flash drives recently added to the collection of flash drives here when 10 was first out that are plugged into a large 7 port 2.0 hub at times without any hiccups. I also was finding data transfers were going much faster when 3.0 flash drives were on 2.0 ports instead of 3.0! The 3.0 bus simply provides more current to allow for 6 devices rather the limit of 4 seen with 2.0. One place of the two places you can look to see if there are any yellow marked items would be under the Universal Serial Bus Controllers section at the bottom as well as taking a look in the Disk Drives section.
