The best Gmail app on the Mac used to be Sparrow, and perhaps it still is, but development and updates for the application stopped two years ago when Sparrow was acquired by Google. The best Gmail app on the Mac that is still being actively developed and updated is probably Airmail.

I have been looking for an app that will let me access my gmail accounts while not in a browser. I just recently started using MailTab and so far it has been working fine; however, I am curious to know if there are better options available. Ideally, the app would have the following: • The look/feel of gmail • The ability to access my lables • a notification system for my desktop The ability to access multiple accounts at once though the app would be a huge plus (I have to switch over to different accounts in MailTab) but not a requirement.
