Recently I came across a really great program for my Texas Instruments 84 Plus CE calculator. It is useful to write notes into the TI-84 Plus CE. This is useful to keep hard to remember formulas or other mathematical information all in one place. I used CE Text Editor. Keep in mind that this will only work on the TI-84 Plus CE. There are other methods that you can use to put notes into a TI-83, or another version of the TI-84. First you will need to download and install TI Connect CE.

To do this you simply open TI Connect CE, select Calculator Explorer from the left hand bar and drag the files into the selected calculator. If you have multiple calculators connected, be sure you select the correct one. Now if you click the prgm key on your calculator, you should see a NOTES program appear.

Hit enter twice to open the program. You can now start typing away and saving your own notes. However, this would take forever, you can achieve the same thing by creating text files of the notes on your computer and then using TI Connect CE to pass them over to your calculator. First, create a new text file (.txt). Write any notes you wish and save it on your computer. Notice that in the CE Text Editor folder that you downloaded there was a third file called ConvText. What you must do to turn it into a file that your calculator can read, is simply drag your newly created text file with notes and drop it on top of this file.

Then you should see a new file appear with the same name, but now it will have the TI Connect icon. You can then drag this file over into the calculator. CE Text Editor with Notes In the above picture you can see all my notes and how they appear once you drag and drop them over the ConvText file. Now you can go back to your calculator open the Text Editor program by pressing prgm key on your TI-84.
