I just purchased a Targus numeric keypad model AKP10CA. It works and it doesn't work. I want to uninstall whatever drivers that might have been installed by plugging this in and start over to see if it can be made to work completely.
When initially plugged into my macbook pro, he o/s asked me to identify the keypad by clicking the key to the right of the shift key. But of course there is no shift key since this is a numeric keypad. It then asked me to choose whether this is ANSI, Japanese or some other, and I chose ANSI. With that done, the keypad works within the mac environment as expected. However the real reason I purchased it was so I can punch in numbers through excel (2010) when I run Win7 (SP1) using VMW Fusion. In that environment, the keypad acts as if numlock is off so that the keys move the cursor (ie 4=left, 8=up, 6=right, 2=down, etc) instead of giving me numbers. I have read many online posts already on that model of keypad & other targus keypads.
One suggestion was to undo the initial keypad identification step, or otherwise uninstall whatever drivers that got installed. The Library/Keyboard Layouts folder appears to be empty. So two questions: 1) How do I undo the keypad idetification step and start over?

I need to do a lot of number entries and bought the Targus USB Keypad to use with my Macbook Pro. The problem is that it doesn't seem to work too well. It enters the number then immediately clears it. It works fine without NumLock on but I need it with the numbers, not for navigation. Did I waste my money? Any ideas of solutions? Is there some kind of software I need to make it work right?
