You can change this by pairing a specific remote to a specific device. With OS X Mavericks or OS X Mountain Lion, you can find the remote pair settings in System Preferences > Security & Privacy. Click the padlock icon on the bottom-left of the window and authorize as an administrative user in order to make changes. Then, click the Advanced button on the bottom-right of the window.
